WELCOME

Welcome to all, old and new! :~)

Yaaay!!! Another week of the ezine working perfectly on it`s new home. I`m loving it! Apart from that, the whole weeks been pretty stressful...lol. (Only cos it`s rained all week, and the kids have been climbing the walls...hehehe)

We`re working on a re-vamp of the main page, and it`s coming along great. Thanks to those of you who sent in suggestions. A lot of the ideas were pretty much what we`d thought of too, so it looks like we were on the right track there :~) Also, a couple of great tips were sent in. Rest Assured, we WILL be implementing some of them.

I`ve spent most nights this week doing research and finding article topics, which is hard work when I don`t know exactly what you want and need. Please, if there`s anything in particular you`d like to read about, let me know, and I`ll see what I can do.

As promised, there`s more feedback on the issues of bounced emails and banning addresses. Again, check the "Subscribers Comments" for another 2 different opinions. If you have any opinions on the subject, please send them in. If you`re new, and have no idea what I`m babbling on about, check out issue #30 in the archives. (You`ll find the archives in the Members Lounge)

I STILL haven`t found a fix for the AOL problems, but i DO know that even whitelisting our domain doesn`t work :~( I`m pretty lucky though, as a lot of you have changed your subscribed addresses. Thanks for helping out so much! I only have about 45 AOL/Netscape addresses left in the database, and hopefully, they`ll get back from "vacation" before I totally lose my mind...lol.
(hey, it`s hard work sorting out the few "unlucky" addys in my database, importing them to groupmail, then sending through my ISP to make sure they get the ezine)

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Not Just Another Interview #19 is posted, is it yours? Have you read any of them yet? There`s always some real good, helpful advice in `em. If you haven`t sent in your interview yet, please do so using the automated form in the Members Lounge. We really love the chance of getting to know you better :-) Don`t forget, the link to the Members Lounge can be found at the bottom of this page EVERY week.

This weeks free ebook is, Best Sales Letters: Learn how to write compelling and order-pulling sales letters.

Get those votes in for next weeks e-book!

Want to swap links with us? Check it out here: www.annamarketing.com/ezine/links It can work wonders for your Search Engine rankings. Suggest your site, we`ll check it out, and so long as it fits our categories and conforms to our stipulations, we`ll swap with ya :-) Of course, this means you have to be able to control the content of your site, so you can actually ADD our link on it ;-)

Be happy and prosperous in everything you do :~)

Enjoy Reading!

Featured Article: Business Email Etiquette

By Joshua S. Day

Business operators new to the Web are eager to solicit prospects and partnerships online but are generally ignorant about how to go about it professionally. Without knowledge of B2B etiquette, your actions can be taken for rudeness or incompetence, leaving the other party with a poor impression of your company.

Whether you solicit new partnerships or seek to maintain and build relationships with current businesses, the key is to prevent misunderstanding and not give offense.

When sending email:

1. Fight the urge to be creative. Avoid using multiple fonts, size and colors. No HTML or rich media, either. Keep it all in plain text.

2. Keep it punctual. Do not write a lengthy email and do not use jargon or talk with an overly hip attitude. For your signature file, do not use cute quotes (unless it happens to be the slogan of your business).

3. Watch your tone. Don't speak in terms of how great you think your company is. Speak from the point of view of the other business to say, "Look what we can do for you."

4. Size matters. Don't tie up people's email by sending large, unsolicited attachments. If you have to send a large file, give warning, check on a time most appropriate to send it, such as before or after regular working hours, or send it in segments.

5. Use discretion. Something that might seem funny to you might be patently offensive to someone else. Even if the person on the other end has no problem with what you're sending, other people in their office could glance at the offending message.

If you're that inclined to show or tell the person what you have, ask for a non-business email address you can send it to where they can review it with more privacy.

Effective emails are essential in acquiring a good customer base.

====================

Hi Anna,

As a fellow publisher I appreciate the dilemma with which you
are faced. In the case of AOL/Netscape I can see only two options
open to you 1) Determine why the NJAE mail is being refused and
resolve the problem. 2) Ban all subscribers as you are considering.

In the case of Hotmail, Yahoo, and other similar free email
addresses I believe all you will do is transfer your problem to
another free service.

You see my line of thinking is this, the people most likely to bounce
your email as a result of full mailboxes, dud addresses etc. will simply
move on to another of the free services. For me at least there are way
too many to even try and keep track of with new ones springing up regularly.

Beyond the well-known email service providers do we even know which
are free and which are paid services?

In my own case I use several different free services as a method of
keeping personal, business, hobby related, interest related emails and
the like well segregated.

Those keeping their mailboxes clean will do so regardless of the service
used.

Personally I use the \"3 strikes and you out\" theory. Any email address
that bounces 3 times is destined for my blacklist and you had better have
a pretty plausible reason if you wish to be removed from that list.

My list currently exceeds 10,000 people, many of whom are using Hotmail or
Yahoo addresses and give little or no problems.

Blanket banning of such services seems to me a little like the approach
used by S*** filters and I suspect would have a similar end result.
i.e. penalize the genuine while the troublemakers continue on relatively
untroubled.

Just my 2 cents worth for what it`s worth.

With Warm Regards,
Eric (EKiwi)

According to my inbox - I should be stinkin’ rich by now. Filthy, stinkin‘, rollin-in-the-green,

R I C H!

Seriously, there is so much going on on the Internet, so many fabulous wealth building programs - many of which will provide me with an income of in excess of $10,000 per week (in my first week no less!), that anyone with a computer and Internet connection could be out of debt and ready to retire within a year. According to all the incredibly reliable information in my inbox, you and I should be lying on a beach sipping pina coladas, pinching the pool boy, poking jokes at all the ninnies who snickered at us (yes, those silly faithless twits who are still slugging it out in the 9 to 5 forum…tehehe), and celebrating the wealth we have created over the last six months. I’ll bet that between us, we know at least 67 millionaires!

Man o man, business on the Internet is really a cinch! I don’t know why everyone isn’t doing it! I tell you - life is g o o d!

I’ve been at this for more than three years now - and I’m still here. Still chipping away at it. Building my business, training people. Working away at it everyday. Geeze, I must be a slow learner…

H e l l -ooooo - is anyone out there??? Did we all sign up for Internet access and allow our connections to drain every ounce of common sense we ever had? Are we complete bumbling idiots..? Have we lost our minds?

Do you ever wonder why it can be so difficult to build a legitimate Network Marketing Business, particularly on the Internet, or why the industry (especially on the Internet) has such a bad name? I know, I am asking a lot of questions - but honestly - it’s a nightmare out here, and I wonder… has anyone else noticed?

Here are a couple of ads that I have received this week:

"I Received $6,000 in 5 Days Answering My Phone..."

"...received $6,000 in 5 Days..." - M.A. Amarillo, Texas
"...received $13,000 my 2nd Week..." - Bob, New Brunswick
"...received $30,000 in 2 Weeks...saved my house from foreclosure..." - MG, Atlanta

These are real people - real results. These are ordinary people like you and me. You can talk to them yourself. See for yourself. Investigate for yourself. My wife and I did. We have 2 kids and our marriage was being ruined by money problems. Financial security is saving it.

Tempting, aren’t they. Wouldn’t it be great if what they claimed were true.

You know what’s really sad about these ads? It is really sad that some dirt broke, desperate, single mom, some exhausted father of five working three jobs, or some retired Granny on a limited income is going to take a bite at an ad like this. Exhausted, individuals, with no hope, and no plan, will sign up because ads like this spark hope. People want to believe in the Internet Gold Mine. Because they are desperate. Because they are exhausted. Maybe, because they are not very ambitious, or not very bright - but regardless of why people swarm to these ridiculous claims, the sad fact is that they don’t work. People, usually those who can afford it the least, lose money - but more damaging, they lose hope completely when the seeming opportunity falls to pieces. And that is very sad. Sad for the individual who has been stung and is hurting the more for it, and sad for the industry - further damaged and trying through the efforts of a diligent few to pull itself into a credible light.

When I first started marketing on the Internet, I was sure that it was my ticket to wealth. Three years later, I view the Internet through a different lens. The Internet may enhance my efforts to build a business - there are no guarantees. The Internet is not the Golden Egg, it is merely a tool, like a phone, or a fax machine. It’s a tool that I use to communicate with people. A tool that I use to deliver high tech information. A tool I use to show people what I do. It’s a means to an end - but it’s not the end.

You know, I receive email every week from people who have been taken for a ride with one shoddy program or another - and they are devastated. They are hurting, they are angry, and they are convinced that the whole industry is a scam. I feel for them, I truly do. I feel for us all, because we are all hurt by the myriad of nasty experiences that people are having. This industry is sadly lacking in integrity and honesty. In many cases, it seems to be perpetuated by desperation and blatant fraudulence.

So as you forge on this week, take a few things into consideration. If you want to build a serious Network Marketing business, be an honest person, and work an honest business. Don’t jump from one silly fantasy program to another and wonder why you are not successful. Use your head. Do your homework. There are dozens of legitimate, credible business opportunities out there. Find one (and I mean one - not 12, not 25, but one).

When you find a solid, credible, program - leave the hype and garbage behind. Hype is a turn-off to people who are seriously considering Network Marketing, and ultimately, it only attracts desperate people who are looking for a free ride to success (on your back, no less).

And do yourself a huge favour - consider the fact that the Internet, in and of itself, is not a wealth generating system - it’s a tool. Use it as you would any other tool, and for heaven’s sake - don’t limit yourself to one tool - use as many as you can to help your business grow. As much as we would like to believe that if we have an Internet connection, we have a ticket to huge growth in our businesses, that is not the case. Most successful Network Marketers use the Internet, the phone, the fax machine, card decks, flyers, newspapers, magnetic car signs, and any other tool that they can find, to successfully grow their businesses. Is the dot com bomb of the dot com boom lost from memory so quickly? Come on people - the Internet is just a tool. The sooner we all recognize and accept that, the sooner we can get down to business.

Have a great week, and until next time, play nice.

Morgana BraveRaven.
